That's a slippery slope...how about the next time you commit a vehicle code violation, they confiscate your car?
How about if you let your kid take a sip of wine at the family dnner table, you get convicted of "furnishing alcohol to a minor" and have your home confiscated.
I can better picture making the guy pay for what it costs aquaculturists to propagate and release double what he illegally took.
