I thought some finescale triggers were native. I see reports from fishermen catching them on santa monica bay rockpiles regularly, but it could just be summer, I guess.
on sea surface temperature charts - nb, surface - marineland often looks pretty cold. I think marineland and parts of redondo are close to some deep, cold water. Much of OC is warmer and shallower, they often get dorado in the summer.
