I've been to several places that get humid in the Summer. Hawaii, the South, The Northeast US. No thanks! I love the cool ocean breezes keeping things nice and temperate. One of my favorite things about being from SoCal is that I can be at the beach in the morning, play in the snow and spend a few hours in the desert heat all in the same day. Temperate climate suits me just fine. :-)
