This is why boats can't keep good crew members. The cook on a multi day works 17 hours..Thain about that 17 hours and his base is 65 to 70 a day. Whats that..about 3.65 an hour? No one can afford to work on these boats. But I'll tell you what, the owners are doing ok. Better than the crewmwmbers. I've worked many trips with a full cattle boat. 3 day trip. Left for home after 3 days with less than 100 dollars. Thats 33 dollars a day. Less than 1 dollar from each diver per day. Thats the reality folks. Less than 1 dollar a day.
