WE had intended to look for a recently discovered structure (old dock?) off of the Marineland of the Pacific site, Palos Verdes peninsula, CA. Unfortunately, the combination of a west/south swell and wind chop made it dicey in the cove, so we opted to dive Buchannan's Reef, nearby.

It was cold! My computer read 45 degrees at one point! Visibility wasn't too bad, ranging from 10 - 20 feet. There were lots of sheephead, rockfish, treefish, painted greenlings, blacksmith, etc. but we were on a nudibranch hunt.

Here are a few images from this w/e for you to enjoy:

California Sea Cucumber (Parastichopus californicus)

Rockfish (Sebastes sp)

San Deigo Dorid (Diaulula sandiegensis)

Three Lined Aeolid (Flabellina trilineata)

The Odd Couple (Flabellina iodinea & Flabellina trilineata)

Party Hat - Rock Scallop with anemones/sponge (Hinnites giganteus, Corynactis californicus, and Verongia aurea)

Chestnut cowrie (Cypraea spadicea)

The End - anal pore of Warty Sea Cucumber (Parastichopus parvimensis)

Olympus c5050/PT-015 with dual DS-125 strobes
