sorry, hofner, i can't help you out w/northern
cal, but i can welcome you to this side of the
planet and to encourage you to do the following:

**as soon as you get over here, stop by any
local dive shop (check the phone book if you must)
and pick up your free copy of 'california diving
news'. you can also find them on the net, but
i don't have their web addy memorized (sorry!).
you will find ALL sorts of neat and relevant info
re:cal diving.

**when you get a chance, dive off pt lobos in monterey;
it's a state park and you actually need reservations to
dive it, and a kayak doesn't hurt either--you should
not be disappointed w/this site

**check out this website's boat page for some
norcal boat ops

**WHEN you do get a chance to dive socal, check out
the diving off catalina island (just off the l.a. coast)

**you will also want to try diving the channel
islands and san diego (there are many wrecks there)

best wishes and have fun.

kelphead.
