Let me ask a question, many diver's routinely dive nitrox on air tables. In other words, other than knowing that you should not go deeper than your Maximum Operating Depth ( MOD ) there isn't anything technical about it.

For example a Nitrox 36% requires that you stay above 114' a Nitrox 32% requires that you stay above 130'. After you've analysised your mix that's all there is to it.

Of course, I'm not recommending that anyone forego the class and dive Nitrox based upon my rudimentary example, but that is the reality.

And let's further assume that you are diving a site with a *hard bottom * of 90' you have nothing to worry about.

I guess I'm wondering which will come first, if at all, the chicken or egg. The shops/boats tell me there is no demand, the diver's tell me it's too hard to get..

What the hell do I know anyway ;-) I'm just a dumb DM......
