Very good question. About 15 years ago my partner(Mike Meagher)
and I dove most of the deep spots along our coast. We had problems
getting our double 80's filled. Most dive shops laughed at us. And told
us what fools we were for diving so deep. Some even refused to fill our
tanks.So what is Tech? Just another word for deep diving, or a difference
in deep diving? I now take divers out to go "tech" diving, only to have some shops
and intructors waiting on the side, waiting for something to happen, only to
say "I told you so". Tech is here to stay. As diving becomes more and more technical
so will the limits of this sport, and rightly so. Adapt or die.
