I am a diver in South Florida and have been spearfishing for about a year and diving for about five. I noticed that you said you speared barracuda. I did some research and found documentation saying that they were one of the only fish that came back at their attacker and saw at least 3 reports on their attacks. What are your thoughts on this matter? Secondly I have avoided spearing numerous gag and black grouper in the 20lb to 401b class, simply beacause large barracuda were present. Is this a reasonable fear. What is your experience with barracudas attacking a speared fish? I do realize that in Florida our barracuda are different and larger than California's.
