I find the best combination is to get two single-layer Polartec jumpsuits. You can wear one or two depending on water temp. Even with both on, it's not too bulky.
There's some new type of underwear that supposedly absorbs heat before the dive and then releases it during the dive. It's marketed under the name Outlast. However, I haven't had any experience with it and I don't know what it costs.
