Mike,

I read your article: Technical Diving: What Is It and What Is It For You?
I found your definition of technical diving to be lacking. As an IANTD Divemaster, you should know that simply using nitrox does not make you even a 'recreational technical diver'. IANTD makes it very clear that 21–50% nitrox is a recreational gas and encourages everyone to use it. IANTD discourages use of the term technical for this common nitrox. A technical diver is an advanced form of recreational diver that utilizes skills, techniques, equipment and knowledge beyond the requirements of sport diving. Technical dives include but are not limited to > 50% O2, 20' or > 10 min).

Regards,

Bill
