We are working on getting a dive operation started out of Bodega Bay. The captain of the Bodega Bay Sport Fishing Charters wants to use his 40 ft boat to do some exploratory diving off the Sonoma County Coast. After doing several test dives, we will then record the best sites and begin a marketing campaign. We are looking for advanced cert or higher with lots of cold/rough water experience (north coast divers) to fill spaces on the boat. Divers must be in excellent physical condition and be able to handle the possibility of strong currents, line entanglements, rough seas, and other high stress situations. Divers must supply all of their own gear including tanks, and have flexible schedules. We will be diving on remote offshore reefs and pinnacles that, to our knowledge, have never been dove before. Some of these pinnacles are 3/4 to 1 1/2 miles out and come up out of nowhere with the tops coming within 30 to 60 ft from the surface. There is also a remote chance of having encounters with large predators.
We will be planning trips throughout the summer - I will post them.
This will be a great opportunity for the hard core diver seeking high adventure, - probably not so good for someone who has just certified in warmer water. The water up here is commonly 45-47 degrees in spring . If anybody is interested please contact Eric Sedletzky at: (707) 538-1276 or e-mail me personally.
