www.catalina.com/diveguide/index.html is a pretty good book with maps and descriptions of many sites at Catalina. I keep my copy on my boat, so I can't tell you if the Long Point map is adequate. The cove is generally calm, so I anchor in 20-30' close to shore and do most of my diving straight off the point looking for Black Seabass in the depths. I have seen them in the shallows on two occasions, though. Overall, a nice site to take anyone from a beginner to a deep-freak.
