As someone who charters LOTS of boats out of the LA area, something just doesn't ring true here.

If the boat turns back (and we don't go to an alternate location), I don't pay the boat anything and all my customers are given a choice of a refund or transfer the money to a future trip.

If the story is pretty much as Jennifer tells it, there's no excuse for not offering a refund. And if, as mentioned by Sean, the company is going through some sort of a "merger" (and don't forget, this is the dive business - not a multi-national corporation), it's still no excuse not to refund the passengers.

So there's either more to the story than Jennifer has told us, or there's something fishy going on. Sure would be interesting to hear directly from Dive Connections and get their side of the story.

Note to Jennifer: If you paid for this on a credit, call the bank that issued the card and dispute the charge on the basis of services paid for not rendered.
