One omission in all the hoopla was to single out for special praise my business partner and co-owner of Reef Seekers, Bill Wright.
Each year Bill asks me if he can beg off getting the prizes and each year I tell him that he can't, simply because he's the best at it. He works long and hard not only to get the prizes, but also to make sure the boat lists are kept up to date, coordinate the DMs, assemble each bag for each boat for Chamber Day, and lots more. And then, on top of all that, he has to come down and meet the boats at 22nd Street to hand out prizes and do the whole raffle thing all over again at the Aquarium for Chamber Evening.
Needless to say, it's a LOT of work.
So hat's off to Billy and here's hoping you all thought he looked rather spiffy in his tuxedo, both at 22nd Street and at the Evening event. If you'd like to heap your own praise and thanks upon Bill, you can contact him directly at the store (310/652-4990) or by e-mail at "wrightdivr@aol.com".
