My neighbor came nose to nose with one on a solo night dive last november. He was about 65' heading to the canyon from Vets Park in Redondo. He said it ended his dive for the night. The tiger shark was estimated to be 9 feet long. and based on the diameter (demonstrated with hands and arms) I believe it. He never BS's about size. He aborted the dive and swam along the bottom back to the shore -- looking over his shoulder and sweaping the light around a lot (and sucking a lot of air!). He said they just swam right up to each other. When he saw it, it was still closing in and CLOSE. Better him than me. His light is bigger and shines a lot farther than mine!
