1970, Scouts, one of our scout leaders was a diver, and a buddy of his was an SSI instructor, with his own shop. He gave us a major discount. Yea, there was a lot less to learn, except those damn navy dive tables. And california isn't cold water diving. I learned in the Puget Sound.
