I was on the Golden Dubloon July 17, 1999. We had two fantastic dives on the USS Palawan off Redondo Beach. Ralph and Sheryl are great host and went out of their way to please our group. (They let us use one of their own personal tanks after on of ours blew an o-ring.)At the time, they were also in the process of doing some renovations to the galley and kitchen. Ralph was telling me about some of their plans for making this a GREAT DIVE boat, such as a new ladder and better tank racks. They are younger, more energenic and friendlier than most dive boat owners. Which I think is a plus for newer divers. I have only been on three other boats since the Golden Dubloon, my own, one in San Diego, and one out of Huntington, to the USS Palawan, and I personally would go with the Golden Dubloon again.
