I got my first halibut a few weeks ago of Del Monte Beach in Monterey. A nice 25-lb guy. Upon filetting it, I notice there are little red worms in the flesh. Not too much. May be one every cupful-size chunk of fillet. I tried to pull them out and they wiggle! They are about 0.5-inch long each.
Question: Is it safe to eat? (assuming I cook the heck out of it). Did I just get unlucky and got one that is bad?
