The Yukon sank by itself early this
morning at 12:25 a.m P.S.T.

The holes that had been cut low in the ship
to permit the ship to sink easily did their
job too well. The ship took on water during
the tow out to the sink site on Thursday
and then took on more water while sitting at the
site.

The ship went down without her planned
fanfare and celebrations.

The good news is everyone is safe and
she is in the correct location, the
unfortunate news is the ship is
laying on its side.

The explosives are being removed this
morning (Friday, July 14).

The "First to Dive" program will continue
as planned. If you have reservations to be
one of the first to dive please contact your boat
operator.

The boat will not be open to the public for
diving until after 1 p.m. this
Sunday (July, 16).

Will the ship be uprighted? Will the remaining
holes be cut? Nobody knows
just yet.
