100' depths can be found beyond the 80' depth. :-)

Ok, sorry...there are several pinicle reefs about 150 yards from shore, maybe 75 yards south? (towards Catalina) from the wooden piling near the point. In other words, go to where the road forks while walking down to the shore, follow the right fork until you can go no further (the point). Swim out about 150 yards from the piling that is shrouded in concret on-shore and out towards Catalina Island. You should drop down on or very near the Pinicles which lie in 60' - 80' of water. If you head south from the Pinicles you can usually choose your depth, though there is little there but sand and an occasional small reef.
