On a job today a gentleman had 2 Aluminum 80 tanks in his garage that his father had given him since he no longer dives. This gentleman does not dive and I asked if he would be interested in trading the tanks for my service call (I made out on the better end of the deal if these tanks prove to be good!) When i opened the valves on each there was slight hiss of air. The tanks are pretty much empty. Exterior is in good shape the only visual inspection stag on there was from 75. It looks like they have been taken care and have just been in storage in the garage for who knows how long?
Are their any potential problems? Any idea on how they will for the hyrdo static and vis inspection? I'm planning on taking these in to the dive shop later this week if I have time. All comments appreciated!
