I'd seriously recommend checking out Small Hope Bay Lodge on Andros in the Bahamas. Andros is about 15 minute plane ride west of Nassau, but it's like another world; a very large, sparsely inhabited island, and life proceeds at a very slow pace. The diving from the Lodge is fantastic, and you should check out their website, which is either smallhope or smallhopebay.com. On the downside, there isn't a hell of a lot to do on Andros besides dive, unless you're into saltwater flyfishing. But, the lodge offers regular (2x day) trips which include wall diving and blue hole diving. They also offer (included) snorkelling, windsurfing, bike riding, a hot tub, and you can fish off of their dock. You can also schedule 1:1 divemaster-escorted cave and deep blue hole/wall diving. Check out the specialty dive section of the website. The cool thing about the location here is that the Tongue of the Ocean is about 1/2 mile offshore, and the reef drops off 5000' into oblivion. But back to the lodge. The people who run it are great, and the food is wonderful. A very relaxing, casual type of place. Also great for kids.
