I agree, go to Catalina and dive. For $ 40.00 round trip, you can get to Catalina in under one hour and then dive the Underwater Park near the Casino. It isn't a long walk to the Casino from the boat, and you can rent your tanks right there at the Casino (Underwater Park) from the air truck that is stationed right there at the concrete steps, leading into the water. What could be more easrier ? The viz is outstanding for So. California. Enjoy !
