At about 10:30 a.m. Sunday (8/27) at Casino Point I saw the end of a Baywatch response. There are several reports circulating as to what happened; the most reputable source reported that a diver outside the park was seeking to salvage abandoned anchors. His wife, on their boat, apparently saw his BCD float up to the surface without him about a half hour into his dive. She immediately called for help; Baywatch swept and found him at the bottom with his weight belt on. They performed resuscitation and transported him to the chamber, but their efforts were unsuccessful. No word on the actual cause of death. Now, can anyone with actual knowledge confirm this, please? Is there better information available on what happened here, how the dive went wrong? Thanks.
