OK first off I don't think the story was reported accurately at all.

Talking with a local dive master last friday the story is this.

The woman and gentleman in question HAD BEEN scuba diving a little earlier. They were in fact snorkeling. The wave action up here increases greatly with the afternoon winds. The area where the accident occured is littered with boulders.

There were pictures of the woman lying on a rock with a emt at her side and no sign of scuba gear.

I will check on this story one more time but I do believe there was a lot misinformation put out by the press.

As a local diver it caught my attention. As a locksmith I was at sand harbor to unlock a car, where the accident happned and the care flight chopper had just landed. I didn't have time right then to ask what was going on.
