I have bought some used stuff over the years. My favorite place is thye Dive & Surf Yard Sale. Happens in the winter sometime. They have a web page that probably announces it. Last year I bought a tank and some other goodies for awsome prices (all new stuff this year).
I would also ask at the local dive shops and see what they have or know about. Often folks will want a new reg, but need to sell the old one first (this is especially true of us old married guys). In this kind of case you can pick up soem good stuff and have it tested/serviced prior to use.
