I was in Monterey last weekend, and we walked by Bubba Gumps, and they had a guy who looked like Forest Gump sitting on the bench out front with a box of chocolates. He was pretty cool, and a bunch of folk were taking pictures with him. I thought it was an excellent product tie-in.
As far as places to eat, if you like pub fare try the Mucky Duck. And there's a pretty good chinese place accross the street, but I can't remember the name. Just make sure you get out of the duck before about 9:, because they turn it into a horrible discotech type dance place (unless your into that scene).
