Some very good, well thought out comments there SH. However, some of your criticisms I thought were a little harsh. I really don't believe there are any intentionally sinister motivations behind anyone's comments on this board. I sure did not mean to imply that by my comments to Terry. "Fascist" is certainly not appropriate; I don't even think fanatic applies. I think there are just some very committed believers who I don't happen to agree with on everything.
I can't fault their diving skills or the logic of their system for what they want to do. My only problem is, like you have said, I don't believe their's is the only safe way to dive. And the one and only skill I think I may possess more of than they do is my ability to ENJOY my diving. For those of us who believe this is still almost as important as safety concerns, and realize that certain trade-offs between the two sometimes exist, I think "DJF" is very apropos. It may not be for everyone, but I think I can dive DJF.
