I've only been 'solo' diving (and I use this term loosely since there must have been 40 other divers in the water with me at the time at Casino Point) twice since I've been certified. Both dives were well within my capabilities and experience. At the time, I was having a blast. I could definately understand the appeal that solo diving can have. The feeling of total freedom, the weight of responsibity for another person lifted off you shoulders, was incredibly seductive. However having said that, when both dives were over - and I was safe and dry on land - I also had the feeling I had just dodged a bullet.
In the end I think I've decided it's just not worth it. I want my diving to be fun and if I come away from a dive thinking I just won a round of Russian roullette, it's just not fun for me any more.
