For PADI OW - the lack of rescue training and
buoyancy skills training comes to mind. Thankfully
many instructors ignore the mandates and fill in the
gaps. Many others give you such minimal training that
they tell you to come back for AOW before going out
to the ocean alone.
Not meaning to be too abrasive, how much diving have
you done outside of a class? In my mind, not enough
to see where the problems lie.
