Mike, excuse me, but you're definitely Old School. Face it, things have changed, evolution has taken place.
I personally like your advice #2 and #3, and #1 can be debated.
But hey, the Old Navy tables have been refined, and computers, as well as altered gases, are not satan's works. Get the proper training, and Nitrox and technical diving are no hokus pokus. Besides, a Nitrox diver will personally analyze his mix before he'll dive it and so detect a possible error. Like I said, get the proper training, and live by it.
