Frank,

The only irrefutable facts that I know ( since the solo diving victms are not alive to give us the facts ) are that 7 went in solo and 7 are dead what more do you want/need????

If your interest is justifying these actions go ahead, but the five that I remember off the top of my head were the instructor at Casino point who went in solo after assiting a class and his body was found a week later. Ron Fuller three or four weeks ago diving solo at 60' on a home made rebreather. The guy two weeks ago recovering an anchor solo. The other 2 that I remember went in with a buddy and then sepearted. One was a 3 man team at the oil rigs, victime signals his 2 buddies he is having a problem, buddies let him ascend solo, he makes it to the surface begins to wave for the DM, by the time the DM get's to him he's sinking still with weightbelt on and his body has still not been recovered. He was 27 years old. And the last that I remember was a 2 man team in Laguana, again the victim signals a problem buddy says ok to ascend solo and then when buddy finishes his dive he finds his buddy in the surf zone dead. I believe the 6th had something to do with the power plant, but I don't remeber all the facts off the top of my head and the 7th I don't rememebr but if I have time I'll do a search.

Later
