It's too easy to hang out the usual * heart attack * defense. The scuba industry in reknown for this.
The fact of the matter is that everytime someone diving solo dies the supporters of solo diving try to say that he would have died anyway, blah, blah , blah....
As to your comment about bad buddies, I agree. But the fcat of the matter is that at the time these people died they had no one with them, available to help, also known as solo.
That's part of my very point. When something happens I can't for the life of me figure out how any one can rationally argue that it is better to be solo than not...
Please be clear as I said earlier, I'm not syaing that a buddy is an absolute life saver, but if given the choice between having someone to help or not, for me it's easy...
