Understandable points but for me, since I pay particular attention to my RMV's, and once I'm in bailout mode, it's to the surface as safely and quickly as possible I'd do without the SPG.
Generally, you only bailout when you have a equipment problem, which would mean that your dive is shorter, not longer, so as not to need added deco/safety stop time. I said generally, so I recognize that there are situation ( ie; entanglement ) wherein it may be an added BT. But since most diver's ( atleast as far as I know ) use the pony as a solo diver's redundant source ) it seems and unnecessary piece of equipment to have an SPG.
BTW, if you go from 32% to 50% you should have it 02 cleaned.
