(and other online stores). But, I purchased my BCD, reg
octo & computer from a local dealer. I did NOT want the
hassle of shipping something someplace for warranty work.
Plus, after spending the time in my local shop to get all
the info about the various options, the savings by ordering
something online were minimal.
I agree that the local shops need our support ... after all,
they were the ones to get us involved in the sport by offering
the instructors to certify us -- that opened up a whole new
world, undersea.
Ok, so I bought a reel, 2 wetsuits and some weights online.
But, my major purchases were local shops. I also turned someone
else onto diving and told him to buy his at a local shop as
well ... for the same reasons others have mentioned here, and as
I already mentioned. The locals are some of our greatest resources
and we'd be fools not to use their knowledge!
