It's not such a big deal. I personally don't care if someone dives with five computers. If he's got the dough to waste, let him be happy.
As regards tables, I have mine on me but never use them. However, I know how to in case I have to, and since I keep a log book, I could back-track days of diving and simulate all dives and profiles on my tables so I wouldn't have to sit out anything.
My comp has never given up on me since I bought it in 92, and I don't expect it to do so any time soon. I know that this is no guarantee, but then, I don't take my pony on every dive either. I call it calculated risk.
