I haven't followed your position for very long, but the Yukon admittedly did NOT sink as planned.
It sank in the early morning hours as it was being towed out to it's drop point. The plan was for
an incendiary device to burn a hole in the hull dropping the ship at a zero list angle. Instead,
there was an unexpected northwest swell which flooded the access holes cut in the hull, flooding
one side of the ship which caused it to list and sink. That's why it is on it's side and the maps
are useless. Kinda ruined the whole sinking ceremony/fireworks thing, too! You may have already
known all of this. There are several articles that you can find in the San Diego Union Tribune about
