Thought you might all be interested in knowing that Gail Garcia, the woman who suffered the suspected embolism in the Avalon U/W Park on 9/9, is still in very serious condition, but has been moved out of ICU. (I'm assuming she's still in the coma.) But she's now off the respirator and breathing on her own (a good thing). She's still responding to pain stimuli (also a good thing). The family is now trying to figure out what the next step should be. I'm not sure how often it happens in cases like this, but obviously the hope is that she wakes up and says, "Where am I, and how did I get here?"
