Some of our best local boats do not supply tanks. Also, if you rent, you have to get to the dive shop in time to pick the thing up and then drop it off before it closes. I calculated, that based on the amount of diving i do, where a tank is not provided, that just walking into a shop and plunking down sis yuppie food-stamps for an Al 80, i would be ahead of the game after just one year. I was about to go buy an Al 80 when someone gave me two ancient steel '72s and all i had to do was have them hydro'd.
