So many wrecks, so little time !!

Southern California is covered with thousands
of shipwrecks, and there are at least 200 locally
that are "shallow". Storms, erosion and intentional
destruction have all taken their toll.

But if you need wrecks 50 to 60 FSW, they are there.

The Dominator, Gratia and Alma are all off Palos Verdes,
and these are shallow. The Melrose, Meyer and LCM-3
Landing craft are also off Palos Verdes and shallower than 50 FSW.

The Foss 125 off Cleo Street is about 45 FSW.

Off Catalina you have at least ten wrecks shallower
than 50 FSW. Don't overlook the Diosa Del Mar site
off Ship Rock.

La Jennelle in Ventura county is a fun beach dive.
Not much left, but worth one dive.

Off Huntington Beach there is a military landing
craft a well as many other shallow wrecks.

Off San Pedro there is the FS Loop/7 minute Wreck,
the Feb 19th Wreck, the Johanna Smith ( 14 minute Wreck ),
the Georgia Straights and about 50 more wrecks
that are also less than 60 FSW. Some are really
quite nice, former gambling ships.

The Makassar Straights was an escort carrier that
is in 40 FSW off San Nicholas Island.

Don't forget about Hondapoint and the destroyers
Delphy, Fuller, Chauncey, Woodbury, S. P. Lee,
Nicholas, and Young.

Then there are the wrecks off the islands, the
White Eagle and the Gregory are very shallow
off San Clemente Island.

The Makassar Straights was an escort carrier that
is in 40 FSW off San Nicholas Island.

Off Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San
Miguel there are at least 200 wreck (and
many many airplanes ) all less than 50 FSW.

Except for the S-37, most of the submarines
are too deep for your criteria, as well as
many of the older destroyers.

I could go on and on, but then everyone
on the board might think I am obsessed. You
didn't get that impression, did you ??

Oh well.

Safe diving.

Kevin
