My wife and I are looking to drive down the coast from Seattle for a week. We both dive up here in the Puget Sound, so we are fully equipped for cold water diving.
We want to do some boat diving (not interested in shore diving) out of the Monterey area and out of San Diego. We will be spending 1 diving day and 2 nights in one location, and 2 diving days and 3 nights in the other.
Where would you dive the extra day, Monterey or San Diego? What sites would you request that the boats take you to in both locations? Any other tips on California Coast diving (dive boats?)would be appreciated.
By the way, a sea lion dive would be great. Where is the best place for this along the California Coast?
How is the diving in late December?
