Not to go down this road AGAIN . . . but . . . I don't recall anyone making that specific statement. (If you've got it, could you cite - or copy - the specific post?)
However, many people, myself included, have said that solo diving, while conceding it's riskier than buddy diving (especially in the case of an emergency), is not tantamount to suicide.
All solo divers don't die. All buddy divers don't live.
But I don't recall anyone making the statement that diving alone is safer than diving with a buddy, and a I certainly don't recall anyone saying that in an emergency situation, it's better to be alone than to have someone around to help out.
