Ah, I should have been more specific. Yes, I would rephrase my initial "taught deco diving" to "included basic deco stuff for when it hits the fan".
And she was cert'ed by PADI back in the early eighties in Santa Barbara. Actually kinda interesting, she took classes (including hunting) from an instructor who had lost an arm. He apparently was quite a good instructor, and made *really* sure everyone was ready before signing off.
