Integrated weights solve some of the issues which a crotch strap addresses but not others. For example, integrated weights do little to prevent roll or slippage during inversion. The crotch strap also provides two useful attachment points-the scooter ring and the rear D ring. Overall, the crotch strap has the effect of "locking" you securly into your rig insuring as streamlined an equipment profile as possible. These issues become more pronounced as you migrate to heavier tanks and then to doubles.
