I use a O'Neill 7mm neoprene dry suit. It works great for California waters because you need little or no additional insulation. Majority of my dives I wear shorts and a polypro top (for 60 deg. water). For colder water I'll add a fleece pullover and that keeps me nice and toasty. Downside is that O'neill suits come with crappy dump valves.
