If you are an Instructor or DM, a crossover course is usually an expensive proposition. On occasion, a kind soul will make an offer you can't refuse (see Jim Hoffman's post for a free DM crossover down this list.) OTOH, sometimes you want to refuse (TDI offered free Inst. crossovers recently, but probably got few takers.) But when I changed, it cost me a goodly chunk.

Otherwise, just take your next training from the agency you want. With a few notable exceptions, all of the major agencies recognize the competition.

Another point of view would be to get different certs from different agencies, expecting to get some agency-specific bias from each. That is if you believe there is really any difference in agencies.
