Those of us that dive with buddies recognize that while in an OE if you have an OOA scenario it is likely that both diver's will need to exit the OE. Often times that will require exiting through narrow passageways and/or restricted areas that only have enough room for one diver at a time. By using a 7' hose you allow ample room for the OOA diver to navigate the restriction to be followed by the donating diver. If you use a standard length hose you simply won't have enough room for both diver's to get through the restriction...
