Frank;

Good for you. I hope you never do have an OOA situation on your hands. I've never had a car wreck, but I do wear a seat belt.

The long hose can be stowed various ways. Most of the world stuffs the 7' hose either behind the manifold or along the side of the tanks. This group then secures the long hose second stage to a necklace or csome other device. In an OOA, the donor hands off the long hose and keeps the short hose in the mouth.

The other part of the world runs the long hose down the right side of the body, under the hip mounted light canister, up the chest from right to left, behind the neck and into the mouth. The long hose second is therefore the primary and is donated in an OOA.

Merits of the two systems is discussed ad nauseum on various lists. Perhaps the most concise treatment of the two systems is at www.gue.com.
