thanx! lanier for reminding me about the general
use of a din valve. however, i just assumed, incorrectly
so, that greg would be purchasing an lp tank
and not bother w/the din valve, since i have not
run into lp tank users that use a din valve.
din valves seem to be much more commonly used
on hp tanks versus lp tanks (at least based on
what i've seen).

thanx!! for correcting me.

as far as overfilling lp tanks, i tend to shy
away from things like that since i'm not an
engineer and don't really know the true limitations
of metals. i am aware that some people do overfill
lp tanks (in laguna beach, one shop fills them to
4000psi--at least that's what one of the shop instructors
told me). i'm also aware of the '+' rating, but
that this '+' overfill rating was good for the
first 5 years and not after that...would anyone
like to confirm this 'd.o.t.' stipulation??

so, i'm the kind of person who probably won't
overfill a tank by more than 200-300psi (allowing
for contraction after a hot fill down to the
target pressure) just for safety sake.

to each his/her own--unless there is a danger
involved.

thanx!! again.

kelphead.
